A Warm Welcome at Melbourne Garden Show
This beautiful space took home a bronze show garden award at this year’s show.
The biggest annual flower and garden show in the Southern Hemisphere is set in Melbourne every year in March at the Royal Exhibition Building & Carlton Gardens. The Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show is the ultimate festival for green-thumbs. Ranked among the top five flower shows in the world, the show really has something for everyone. The festival showcases emerging lifestyle trends, floral displays and show gardens, while visitors are also able to attend masterclasses and demonstrations from a range of floral stylists, landscapers and industry experts.
In 2019 Kaynemaile was featured throughout the Welcome Garden which was designed by Mark Browning and took home a bronze show garden award for his amazing effort. Bringing almost 40 years of landscaping prowess, Browning designed a space for visitors to congregate at the show. The Welcome Garden is a place for visitors to relax and recline, plan their day at the show and participate in the various talks from top designers and growers.
Kaynemaile worked with Mark to develop solar shading across the top of the Welcome Garden pergola. A large single screen in Translucent Black was used for this piece. Steel coloured screens were used to encase the pergola columns and Copper Kaynemaile screens were used at the rear of the pergola to provide additional solar shading.
Kaynemaile is extremely robust and scratch resistant. The larger the screen, the stronger it is. Kaynemaile mesh is also super lightweight—weighing just 3kg per meter square. Metal based materials corrode and oxidise in coastal conditions. Kaynemaile does not. Our mesh holds true to its tensile strength. The mesh doesn’t suffer movement fatigue and the colours are built-in so won’t fade or rub-off, making it ideal for landscape designs. It truly is a wonder product!
